Is the mud clean?

The Dirty Girl Mud Run uses the highest level of sifted top soil. Safety is our main concern and our course managers do their best to keep our course as sanitary as possible.

If you are concerned about mud reaching your eyes we suggest wearing sunglasses or goggles. Protective eyewear in any sport is a great idea!

What time should I arrive?

You will need to arrive 60 minutes prior to your registered wave time.

Is there a charge for parking?

Please see the Event Details for each specific event regarding parking charges.

What should I bring?

A valid ID with your birthday to check in if you’re over 18
Cash for parking and food and drinks at the after-party
Garbage bag to store your muddy clothes…they will be sopping!
A towel to dry off and protect your seat home
Change of clothes and sandals for after the rinse station and changing tent
Your ticket printed from your Eventbrite account
Your self! You must be present at the event to pick up your registration packet

Are pets allowed?

Although Fido may want to join the muddy fun, animals (with the exception of service dogs) are not allowed, so please leave all pets at home for the run.

Is there a place to rinse off and change?

We do have a rinse station with changing tent available after you complete the course. Remember ladies, this is a rinse station, not a shower. You will not need soap or a washcloth for our rinse station, as we need to keep it moving so every Dirty Girl has an opportunity to rinse. Bring correct footwear and then head to our changing tent.

Is there somewhere to stow my belongings?

We do offer a complimentary gear check at each event. Visit the “Gear Check” tent to stow your belongings…really anything you don’t want covered in mud that you can fit in one purse, duffel bag, tote or backpack! One bag per person, no re-checking bags and no coolers. Gear check is not in a covered area and is open to the weather, so we recommend leaving all valuables at home.

Will there be a photographer?

We will have photographers on site taking pictures that day, so be sure to secure your bib on the front of your shirt so we can identify you in your pictures. Photos will be available online on Thursday or Friday after your event date.

Are spectators allowed and is there a charge?

There is no charge for spectators (does not apply to parking fees). They will be able to see the start and finish areas plus several, but not all, obstacles. Obstacles open to spectator viewing vary from event-to-event depending on the distance between obstacles and layout of the course. We try to make the courses as spectator friendly as possible while also keeping participant safety in mind, as that is our number one concern.

Will the obstacles be the same at every location?

For the most part yes. We also create custom obstacles at many events to fit with the terrain and venue, so there may be slight variations at each event.

The venue/location is not listed, where will the event be held?

Dirty Girls love their mud and obstacles. And because of that, we take special care to choose a location for each event that provides you with the best chance of crossing the finish with the biggest smile of your life. We aim to have all venues within 60-90 miles of the advertised market in order ensure the venue guarantees a fun-filled experience that will leave you with fantastic, lifelong, muddy memories.

I left something behind, is there a lost and found?

We do have a lost and found at each of our events so if you misplaced something you can check at the event to see if it was turned in. After the run, if there are any unclaimed items, we will hold on to them. Please contact support@humanmovement.me if you misplaced something at one of our events.

What is the weather policy?

Safety at The Dirty Girl is our top priority.  If dangerous weather conditions listed below occur on the event day, the event may be delayed or even canceled.

Dangerous Weather Conditions

The Dirty Girl may be canceled or delayed if any of the following weather conditions exist: Tornado Warning, Tornado Watch, Thunderstorm, “Excessive” Rains, or any other weather conditions we feel are threatening to the safety of our participants.

Start of the Race / Cancellation of the Event

The start of the event may be delayed one hour from the posted start time if any of the above mentioned conditions exist. The event may then be canceled if any of the weather conditions persist: Tornado Warning, Tornado Watch or Thunderstorm.
The Race Director, in accordance with the city and the local law enforcement, has the authority to cancel the event. If threatening weather conditions force cancellation of the event, no refunds can be provided, since funds were already spent in preparation for race day.

Broadcast of Cancellation

If Event is canceled more than 24 hours prior to the start time: We will notify all participants by email.
If Event is canceled less than 24 hours before start time: We will notify all participants by email.
If Event is canceled during the actual event, on-site notification (flags) will be posted if weather alert level is BLACK, RED, ORANGE OR YELLOW on the scale below:

BLACK FLAG: Emergency Weather Conditions/Event is canceled. Please seek shelter.
RED FLAG:Dangerous conditions/The event will be canceled.  Runners should follow posted or emailed instructions.
YELLOW FLAG:Potentially Dangerous conditions.  Severe Lightning, high temps, high winds/Course may be altered for safety.  Start times can be delayed. Participants should show extra caution on course.
GREEN FLAG:Good Conditions/All elements of the event will take place


What do I get with my registration fee?

In addition to the time of your life, your registration fee entitles you to a Dirty Girl t-shirt, gear check, and other cool stuff like music and entertainment.

How much is the registration fee?

Registration fees vary and increase as the run date approaches. Please see your specific event for current registration fees.

*All registration fees are per person, we do not have group rates.

I am a cancer survivor, can I get free admission?

We are happy to give out 300 complimentary registrations to survivors at each of our events. These spots are open to any type of cancer survivors at no charge.

Just send us a quick email to support@humanmovement.me that just says “I’m a survivor!” if this applies to you and we’ll provide you with the steps to register your cancer-kicking self.

When is the latest I can register?

Unless an event sells out ahead of time, registration will be open online until 7am in your time zone the morning of your event and available on-site the day of the event. Onsite registration will be $80, cash or credit are accepted.

Can I transfer my registration to another person?

We do allow transfers if you are unable to participate.  If you wish to transfer to another city-login to your eventbrite account and click the “transfer” option.  If you would like to transfer your registration to another person-login to your eventbrite account go to “my tickets”, select your event ticket and click “edit”.  You will then be able to change the name and info to the person who will be replacing you. We are also happy to assist if you email us at support@humanmovement.me. Participants may not transfer from year to year.

Can I register a friend for Dirty Girl?

Yes! Dirty Girl is a super spectacular gift idea. You will need a bit of info hand, including your friend’s mailing address, email address, birth date, t-shirt size and an emergency contact name and phone number.

I can no longer participate, can I get a refund?

Dirty Girl has a strict no refund policy.  Along with our policy, if a venue is changed from the original advertised venue, and is sill an hour and a half from the advertised city, a refund will not be given. Lastly, If a coupon code is not used properly by the purchaser, and the transaction goes through, the difference will not be refunded back to the purchaser.

What if a wave is sold out?

Each wave has a limited amount of space and once a wave is full it is sold out. Anyone who is already registered has the ability to switch to another open wave that day if there is still space available.

How do I create or join a team?

1. First, login to Eventbrite on your computer. (This link will also prompt you to create a password if you haven’t logged in to Eventbrite before, or, you can use the “Forgot password” link to request a password reset.)
2. Locate your order under My Tickets.
3. Click “Transfer”
4. Select “Change team”
5. Choose to ‘join a team’ or ‘create a team’ by selecting the appropriate tabs on the screen.
6. Click “Continue”
7. Click “Continue Transfer” to complete the process.

How big/small do teams have to be?

A team can be as big or as small as you’d like.

How to access or update my info, change teams, reprint tickets, and view team page:

I am not in the best of shape, can I still participate?

Absolutely. Dirty Girl Obstacle Run is non-competitive and will not be timed, so there is no need to hustle to get through the course. We do recommend some light cardio a couple times per week paired with some upper body strengthening to help you get up and over the obstacles. However, you’ll have the option to bypass any obstacle you’re not comfortable tackling.

I am pregnant/have a medical issue, can I still participate?

We may know how to put on an awesome event, but our prenatal/medical knowledge is limited. Consult your doctor before registering.

What if I can’t complete a particular obstacle?

All obstacles are manageable. We think you’ll surprise yourself with what you can accomplish,but if you feel you can’t tackle one of the obstacles, you can take one of our detours.

Do I have to know how to swim to do the “H2OMG” water pit?

No. The water pit will be knee to waist deep and you’ll just need to traverse through it. Water wings are optional, and if you don’t feel comfortable you may always bypass H2OMG.

What is the minimum age to participate?

The minimum age to participate is 14 years old. Anyone under the age of 18 will need to have a parent or guardian accompany them to packet pick-up the day of the event. The parent or guardian must sign the waiver at packet pick-up and online during the registration process for any minor.

Is the Dirty Girl Mud Run really for women only?

Yes. But, great news, spectators are more than welcome to come cheer you on that day! Even better news, there is no charge for entry, they will just need to pay for parking. About the dogs (pets of any kind) though, we love em’ as much as you, but they will need to stay at home that day.

Do I have to be in a team to participate?

No. You can participate as an individual or as a team; whatever suites you best.
